Starting with October 1st 2023, Erste Group offers the next Group Graduate Programme. In 18 months we give a number of bright and highly skilled university graduates the opportunity to discover the world of our banking group. One trainee will be based in the department Trading Book Risk Management. This department covers risk management tasks related to trading and capital markets activities within Erste Group. The functional area includes the analysis, measurement, management and reporting of relevant market risks, the limit setting and steering process, as well as valuation related topics such as CVA/DVA, independent price verification, and market conformity checks for capital market products.

Your Tasks

• Monitoring limits and exposures, investigating limit breaches, track exposures, and identifying hidden risks
• Consulting front office on a broad range of risk management topics including risk metrics, limits and exposures, and risk factor interactions
• Contributing to the design and development of new modules and features in the risk management and limit monitoring system
• Participating in the calculation, analysis, and reconciliation of key regulatory metrics for the trading book
  

Your Background

• A university degree (min. Bachelor, preferably Master degree) with focus on finance as an advantage
• Keen interest in financial markets with some exposure to quantitative valuation topics, risk measurement approaches, limit management, and reporting processes
• Solid IT and data management skills, which should cover basic SQL and advanced Excel. Basic experience with statistical packages (R, Python) is highly beneficial
• Focus on results with the ability to proactively and independently find solutions to meet objectives
• Able to work to tight deadlines and communicate efficiently
• Strong empathy and excellent interpersonal skills
• Fluent in English, German and CEE languages are an advantage
